Thefts from sheds - Tanners Lane

Alert message sent 02/10/2018 17:01:00

Information sent on behalf of Lincolnshire Police

Overnight from Sunday 30th to Monday 1st, two sheds were broken in to on Tanners Lanes, both had padlocks cut or forced to gain entry. One was searched but nothing appears to have been taken the second had a chain saw and fuel can stolen.

If you recall any suspicious activity in the vicinity please use the 101 number giving incident number 145-01/10/2018.

Sheds are difficult to secure given the construction and often secluded location in the garden. Bolt croppers will remove many standard padlocks and a crow bar can prise wooden panelling off, particularly if it isn't tongue and grove construction. Hinges are also a weak point as they are often fitted with the screws exposed on the outside of the door.

The Lincs Police website has security advice for sheds and outbuildings.

If the link doesn't work search for 'lincs police shed security' on the Internet.

If you require any specific advice please contact my-self.
