Dangerous Driving and Collision with Dog near Horncastle

Alert message sent 24/10/2018 12:24:00

Information sent on behalf of Lincolnshire Police

Hello good afternoon this is PCSO Nigel Wass. We would like to appeal for witnesses to an incident of dangerous driving and hitting a dog without stopping on the A158 at Thunkers Hollow near Horncastle around 09:00 yesterday morning the 23rd of October.

A Black BMW 3 Series 2011/2012 over took traffic on double white lines traveling west bound after the traffic had slowed down due to a dog on the road.

The vehicle hit the dog causing significant damage to the offside front light and unfortunately the dog had to be put to sleep afterwards.

Unfortunately checks on ANPR and CCTV have been unable to trace the VRM of the vehicle.

If people were in the location and have dash cams, checks on these would be appreciated and if anybody has any information please call 101 quoting incident number 83 of the 23rd. thank you
