Save your presents from thieves

Information sent on behalf of Lincolnshire Police

Dear Members,
Good Morning.

It is that time of the year again...Christmas is approaching fast.
Many of you have perhaps bought presents for your friends and family already while some are still deciding what to buy.

Whatever you buy, please don't make it easy for the thieves to take it. If you are transporting the presents, please do not leave them on display while the vehicle is unattended. The same applies to anything valuable like a handbag or purse - even if it is empty, as the potential thief does not know it is empty. Use the glovebox or the boot to store items when leaving vehicle unattended.
Similarly, even at home, please do not leave the presents on display where strangers can see them from outside.
Leaving things on display means inviting thieves and it makes their job a little easier.
Please be safe, look after the vulnerable friends and family this festival season.

If the you are away from the house, leave a light on - possibly use a timer switch, which can switch the light on and off at a pre-set time. ask trusted neighbour to keep an eye too.

Any questions or want to report something, please call 101 or 999 in emergency.
Thanks
Shreeji Brahmbhatt.
