Information sent on behalf of Lincolnshire Police

Good evening. This is a Lincs Alert message from PCSO Jane Gardner based at Holbeach Police Station. We have received a number of calls over the last 3 days of ‘suspicious activity’ and theft, both in Holbeach and the surrounding towns and villages. It appears that offenders are targeting outbuildings and garages and mostly during the day time. A report of a suspicious white Peugeot panel van was noted in Gedney Hill. Burglary of outbuildings in Sutton St Edmunds. Theft of an iron statue Gedney Dyke. Suspicious activity Sutton St Edmunds. Three suspicious males at a property in Tydd St Giles in a blue Astra estate. An attempt burglary Washway Road in Holbeach Theft from a shed in Whaplode Suspicious males asking for scrap but seen trying doors on Frostley Gate Attempt shed break in Fleet Hargate. Theft from a garage on Spalding Road Holbeach. 2 males seen cruising and looking in properties in Holbeach town. Driving a white Transit van suspected to be displaying false number plates. Quite a few there compared to the norm I would say. In the run up to Christmas many homeowners will have extra alcohol, food and gifts stored in sheds, garages and outbuildings. Often they are left insecure as they are used as a ‘safe place’ for delivery drivers/posties to drop off parcels. Don’t make it easy for burglars. Keep your property locked and as secure as possible. If you go out early morning and come home after dark use timer lights and leave a radio on – make your home look occupied. If you require any advice on how to better secure you home then contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team on the 101 number we will be happy advise you. Report suspicious activity on the 101 number too. Thank you
