Crime Prevention and Police Advice Meeting

Alert message sent 14/01/2019 14:30:00

Information sent on behalf of Lincolnshire Police

Good afternoon.

We have just experienced a period which saw an unprecedented rise in the amount of dwelling burglaries in the village.  This was a very unsettling time for us all but I am pleased to advise you that since Christmas this trend seems to have been bucked thankfully.

I am also very aware through monitoring social media groups and to listening to community members when I meet them that there appears to be a need and a desire in getting some crime prevention advice to 'target harden' ourselves and to do as much as we can to prevent this kind of trend occurring again.  Therefore on Tuesday 22nd January between 4-8 p.m. I will be at Holton Le Clay Village Hall with Jason Kwee who is the Crime Reduction Officer for Lincolnshire Police.  This is an opportunity to speak to us about recent events and to get any advice you feel you might need or want in terms of crime prevention.  I will attempt to answer you questions as openly as I can and to advise you what we as a police force did during the aforementioned period with respect to the additional resources that were utilised and what has happened since these crimes have been reported to us.

I am also looking to establish a list of volunteers who would be willing to post police leaflets locally / in their street that would advise their neighbours of criminal activity and provide advice to homeowners how best to protect their homes.  This would only be very occasional and when there was a concern and need as there was recently. If you would be willing to help, please get in touch with me at richard.precious@lincs.police.co.uk or even do it the old fashioned way and drop a note through the door at the Police Station in the village.

Many thanks and I hope to see some of you on the 22nd.

Rich.
